Podcast: The Weeknd's "I Feel It Coming" EXPLAINED!

The Weeknd does a masterful job of curating this track. Or should I say that Abel Tesfaye does? That's one of those things that trips up even the biggest fan of The Weeknd--Abel Tesfaye and The Weeknd are not the same person. And that's one of the things we talk about in today's episode of The Pop Song Professor Podcast.

Of course, there's much more: we focus on the lyrics, Abel's Michael Jackson influence, how the music develops the theme of the song, and a host of other aspects of "I Feel It Coming." It's not a complex song, but it does drive a lot for us to talk about, not just because it's about having sex and goes into graphic detail.

Don't worry. We keep the conversation tasteful on The Pop Song Professor, and your child won't hear anything in our podcast that he or she hasn't heard in the song itself. And that does bring up one of the main questions that "I Feel It Coming" raises--how tasteful is it to describe sex on the radio?

Ah, you can see the dilemma I find myself in. So much to talk about it! Can't wait for you to join the conversation! Always feel free to email me at clifford@popsongprofessor.com
